1ST CATHOLIC CONFERENCE ON HIV/AIDS IN KENYA The Catholic Church in Kenya marks 20 years of her involvement in combating the scourge of HIV&AIDS by hosting the first Catholic Conference on HIV & AIDS in Kenya scheduled for 24th to 28th June 2007 at the Kenya Institute of Education (KIE) in Nairobi. The conference is an opportunity to review and celebrate twenty years of Catholic AIDS ministry. The official policy of the Catholic Church, This We Teach and Do, will be launched at the conference. The policy was approved by the Catholic Bishops of Kenya at the Plenary Assembly of November 2006. On that occasion, the Bishops mandated the Kenya Catholic HIV/AIDS Taskforce (K-CHAT) to organize a national Catholic AIDS conference. K-CHAT collaborates with the Kenya Episcopal Conference through the Catholic Health Commission and brings together Catholic Groups and NGOs that are involved in the AIDS Ministry.
Registration for the conference will take place from 21st – 23rd
June 2007 (8.00 am – 4.00 pm) at Radio Waumini town office at the
Holy Family Basilica Nairobi. Click Here to get more Information about Daily Coverage of the Conference |
